I believe in creating a compassionate, supportive environment where clients can safely explore their thoughts and emotions. Based in Bristol, I work with people navigating PTSD, complex grief, and the aftermath of difficult life experiences, alongside my specialist focus on maternal mental health.
From my earliest experiences training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), I felt drawn to helping people manage complex emotions. I developed a deep interest in trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), which led me to specialise in this field. My work has involved supporting people through a wide range of challenges, including sexual assault, accidents, migration, and major life changes.
After having my own children, I developed a professional focus on how trauma and grief show up in the perinatal period. This led me to specialise further in birth trauma, baby loss, and perinatal emotional difficulties. Today, my practice holds both areas: I continue my broader trauma and grief work while offering dedicated specialist support to parents.
My approach integrates trauma-informed care with practical strategies to build resilience, emotional wellbeing, and self-compassion. I am fully accredited with both the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) and Interpersonal Psychotherapy UK (IPTUK).
My Work Beyond Private Practice
Alongside my private therapy work, I work within an NHS Maternal Mental Health Service, supporting women with birth trauma, baby loss, and tokophobia. This keeps me firmly embedded in the wider healthcare system and up to date with current clinical practices.
Within this NHS role I also supervise trainee clinical psychologists from the University of Bath who are on placement in the service.
I am currently completing an MSc, undertaking a service evaluation project exploring the effectiveness of EMDR and CBT for birth trauma and baby loss presentations. This research reflects my commitment to understanding what actually works and contributing to the wider evidence base in this field.
For three years I worked at the University of Exeter as a supervisor on the High Intensity CBT training programme, and I continue to deliver ad hoc lecturing for the Exeter clinical psychology trainees on the perinatal mental health module. I also offer workshops to local organisations wishing to improve their understanding of trauma-informed care, birth trauma, and baby loss.
I work collaboratively with clients, tailoring evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Prolonged Grief Disorder Therapy (PGDT). I believe therapy should be both practical and empathetic, helping clients build tools for coping while fostering genuine understanding and trust. If you would like to read more about the types of therapy I offer, you can explore my therapy services page.
My practice emphasises authenticity, warmth, and professionalism. I approach therapy with a “let’s figure this out together” mindset, treating clients with respect, openness, and understanding. I aim to help clients gain confidence, reduce distress, and reclaim the life they want.
Having experienced life’s ups and downs, I understand the courage it takes to seek therapy. I use this perspective to offer compassionate, down-to-earth support, always aiming to make clients feel heard and understood.
